The counseling and health services office continues to be open virtually for care and consultation. We are committed to student safety, and therefore conducting all initial contact with health services and most counseling services via telehealth.
We encourage you to send our nurse practitioners and counselors questions, prescription refill requests, or other non-urgent medical or counseling needs via your health portal or by calling 978.542.6413. Our hours of operation for phone lines are M-F from 8:30 am to 5 pm – please leave a message if we are on the other line.
The health services team is currently focused on helping students return to campus safely, including the operation of two testing sites on campus. Limited appointments for medical care, primarily via telemedicine, are available on a first-come basis. Our staff can also assist with referrals to other local care providers if appointments for the day are full. At this time, in-person appointments are only scheduled by our Nurse Practitioners after an initial telemedicine visit and consultation and as allowable by the Commonwealth’s phased re-opening guidelines.
The counseling services team continues to provide mental health support for students on and off-campus. During our regular hours, telehealth visits are available for any student to connect to a counselor, be it to get information about/set up services or speak to a counselor about an urgent care need. If you feel you should connect with a counselor the same day, please call 978.542.6413. If it is outside of business hours, you can reach support via the Crisis Text Line by texting HOME to 741-741 or going to your local emergency room.
Counseling and health services is staffed by nurse practitioners, a part-time doctor, licensed psychologists, social workers, and mental health counselors, and doctoral psychology interns from the region. All students are required to bring their ClipperCard and their health insurance card with them when they are seeking services from our office.
