Pursuant to the Stop Campus Hazing Act, colleges and universities must prepare a Campus Hazing Transparency Report identifying all student organizations found responsible for hazing through institutional conduct processes. The report for Salem State University appears below. It is updated at least twice-yearly typically in December and July.
The information provided includes the name of the student organization; the known dates of the hazing behavior; the date the incident was reported to the University; the dates of the investigation and the finding of responsibility; and a summary of the outcome. Beginning in Spring 2025, and in accordance with Section 485(f) of the Higher Education Act of 1965 (20 U.S.C. 1092(f)), the report will also indicate whether the hazing incident involved the misuse or illegal use of alcohol or drugs, and the date(s) on which the University notified the organization that the incident constituted a hazing violation.
