Each summer, Residence Life offers new students the opportunity to select their own housing assignment during the annual housing selection process. New students interested in living on campus must complete all the steps detailed here to be eligible to participate in our housing selection process.

Housing Deposits
Students interested in living on campus must pay their housing deposit through their Navigator account. You must pay your $300 housing deposit to participate in housing selection.
We accept deposits continuously until housing reaches capacity.
Students who submit their housing deposit by the June 1 priority deadline will receive first-choice for housing selection. Students who submit their deposit after the June 1 priority deadline will be provided housing as spaces are available.

Fall Housing Application
All students who wish to live on campus for the 2024-2055 academic year must complete the online housing application on Salem State's Housing Portal.
The housing application and personal details form will be available on June 1.
Students who complete their housing application by June 19 will receive first-choice for housing selection. Students who complete their application after June 19 will be provided housing as spaces are available.

Roommate Matching
All students who have completed the Housing Application are encouraged to match with other students to form roommate groups.
Please note: Students must fill all the available spaces in their desired room. The total number of students in your roommate group must equal the number of spaces available in your desired room, suite, or apartment.

Transfer Students
Incoming transfer students will be assigned to available upperclassmen spaces by the residence life housing team by July 5.
Housing Accommodations
New students seeking a housing accommodation are strongly encouraged to complete Disability Services' online intake process when depositing.
