Submit your $150 enrollment deposit and $300 housing deposit (if you plan to live on campus). We encourage you to submit your enrollment deposit by June. 1. Deposits are non-refundable.

All first-year and transfer students must pay their enrollment deposit in order to register for orientation. View instructions on how to submit a deposit online.

If you require additional financial assistance and need to defer your enrollment deposit, please send a completed deposit deferral form to admissions@salemstate.edu.

Submit your deposit

All first-year and transfer students are required to attend a New Student Orientation. At your orientation, you will register for classes and become familiar with campus programs and services.

Please note that it may take up to 48 hours to access orientation registration via Navigator after submitting your enrollment deposit. Please visit the orientation website for the most up-to-date information regarding your orientation experience.

What happens if I miss orientation?

If you missed your orientation, you must attend a virtual Academic Advising Registration Assistance Session to register for classes. Please note that you may have to wait to be seen.

Classes are first come, first served. We cannot guarantee that students registering for courses after New Student Orientation dates can enroll in their required courses or a full-time schedule. Please note that students must be registered in at least six (6) credits to be eligible for financial aid. Students must be registered in at least 12 credits for full-time financial aid awards.

Incoming first-year (freshmen) receive emails to their personal and Salem State email accounts with information on signing up for First Year Seminars in advance of orientation. Seats in each course are limited, so students are encouraged to make their selection as soon as they receive the email.

Salem State offers many ways for students and families to pay for their education. Most people begin by applying for financial aid and confirming their financial aid award letter. If financial aid does not cover the entire cost of attending, the university has other options to help students pay their bill.

For information on estimating your bill, use the Estimate Your Undergraduate Tuition Worksheet.
