Horace Mann Renovation and Meier Hall Addition
Construction activities continue to progress at both Horace Mann and Meier Hall. Current work is focusing on building envelope improvements, including masonry restoration, temporary window installation, exterior framing, and waterproofing activities. Interior efforts will continue with framing, door frame installation, overhead MEP rough-ins, and drywall work. Utility work along Lafayette Street and Loring Avenue is also ongoing to support campus infrastructure improvements. Several key material deliveries, including windows and façade components, are scheduled in the coming weeks and will support the project's next phase of construction. Recently, the Facilities and ITS teams held a kickoff meeting with the project's audiovisual contractor.

North Quad BOLD Connections
The project design continues to advance, with exploratory work currently underway to better understand existing retaining wall conditions. The findings from this investigation will help inform the final design approach and support planning for safe and efficient demolition activities. Learn more about the North Quad BOLD Connections.
Decarbonization Project Update
Over the next three weeks, work will continue across several areas of campus as the Decarbonization Project advances key infrastructure improvements.
A portion of the Meier Hall parking lot has reopened! Please note that there are also four ADA accessible parking spaces in this portion of the lot. In the near future, a portion of the parking lot will need to be taken offline for our solar contractor to complete electrical and drainage work. The construction manager also has some remaining punch list items to complete including the installation of wheel stops at each parking space. Facilities will keep the university community updated on construction impacts to the lot. The construction manager also continues to work on the other side of the lot. These activities include drainage, pressure testing and manhole connections.
At the Central Utility Plant (Administration Building), crews will continue steam system modifications, temporary deaerator tank work, roof preparations, structural steel installation, roofing activities, and construction of equipment support platforms. Occupants may notice periodic noise associated with roofing, steel and mechanical work.
Within the North Quad, trenching, sheet piling, geothermal piping installation, and supporting utility work will remain ongoing.
At the Sophia Gordon Center, electrical rough-in and coordination work related to a future generator connection was scheduled during the week of October 6.
