About our Program

Salem State offers recreational and competitive opportunities in our dedicated Esports lounge, which opened on October 12, 2022.
Are you ready to take your gaming to the next level? Join us in the Ellison Campus Center – ECC 010 where state-of-the-art gaming PCs and consoles are waiting for you.
Our program strives to build community and engagement on our campus. Leagues and tournaments provide the opportunity for participants to test and hone their skills in an exciting and supportive environment.
The Esports Lounge was made possible by the generous philanthropy of Kim Gassett-Schiller ’83, ‘18H and Philip Schiller.
Competitive Teams

Opportunities are available to join competitive teams that compete in the National Esports Collegiate Conference (NECC). Competitive teams are available to all students and there are no requirements to join.
Esports staff members help to support teams by managing gameday operations, keeping updated on NECC rules and policies, and helping to share the competitive esports program with the campus via Twitch live streams!
If you are interested in playing competitive esports, please fill out this form. The NECC has options for League of Legends, Marvel Rivals, Overwatch, Rainbow Six Siege, Rocket League, Super Smash Bros Crews, and Valorant.
