The McKeown School of Education Difference

The McKeown School of Education is dedicated to providing the highest-quality, progressive education for the widest cross section of society, and to graduate top-flight educators who work for the good of their communities.

We welcome “traditional” students coming directly from high school, transfer students, career-changers, veterans, and people who are first in their families to attend college. We seek engaged students who are as diverse in their backgrounds, beliefs, and goals as are the citizens of the Commonwealth they will serve.

We offer  two undergraduate degrees for students looking to work with children outside of the public K-12 system, including private child cares and preschools, camps, museums and community programs.

In addition, our educational studies minor is available to undergraduate students from any major who is interested in education but not pursuing a teaching license.

I Want to Work in a College or University Outside the Classroom

Our master's degree in Higher Education in Student Affairs is designed for people who plan to pursue a career working in a college or university setting in the area of student affairs, a profession focused on promoting college student success and learning outside of the classroom.
