Dear Resident,
Congratulations on being accepted to Salem State University! We are excited that you have decided to live on campus and are looking forward to your arrival on Saturday, August 31, 2019.
New residents typically have two major questions: The first is “When will I find out where I am living and what is the roommate selection process like?” We are excited to announce that we have implemented a new process this year that allows students to customize their housing experience. You will be able to select who you want to live with and select from the available spaces within our first year residence halls. For more information on this process please visit our webpage.
The second question commonly asked: “What should I bring for my room?” On our website is a list of suggested items for your room, as well as items to leave at home. These items are suggested to help make your housing experience a positive one.
To help make some of your preparations easier included in this packet is information about some of the resources that several of our current students have taken advantage of:
- MicroFridge- Provides a microwave and refrigerator combination that students may rent for the academic year. Students who would like to bring their own personal microwave and refrigerator should review the size and power requirements.
- Hayler, Freyer, and Coon- Provides insurance options for student’s belongings while they reside in university housing.
- HBO GO- Offers instant streaming access on all your devices to over 2,000 shows and hit movies. It’s every episode of every season of the best HBO. Anytime. Anywhere.
My final two friendly reminders as you prepare for August 31. First, you must take the necessary steps to settle your bill. You can confirm your total aid and account balance via your Navigator account. Second, you need to have completed health forms on file with Counseling and Health Services.
