Welcome to Salem State
At Salem State, our thousands of undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, and staff call our five-campus University in the historic seacoast of Salem, Massachusetts, home. We are a University on the move, and our vibrant campus is living proof of that. Students of Salem State get to enjoy much more than incredible classes.
We have a state-of-the-art fitness center, dynamic Esports lounge, modern library, and learning commons as well as an award-winning theatre that hosts four productions each academic year. We offer over 65 student groups and clubs and countless events to help foster community, networking, and friendship for our students. We care about all the needs and goals of each of our students and know that health, wellness, and community are just as important to our students as academics. We are working to modernize and improve our campus and facilities each year while the charm and community generations have loved and cherished.
In addition to our exceptional community, our faculty here at SSU are world-class educators who help open the door for students to think in new ways, push themselves, and make the best of their education. They are educated, approachable, and passionate about their subjects. As of 2020, 89% of Salem State's full-time faculty holds terminal degrees, and we have had 20 Fulbright Scholars over the last two decades.
