Salem State offers two unique pathways to prepare you for the next steps toward your career in history.
 

  • MAT history: for those seeking initial licensure to teach history in grades 5-12 in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. 

  • MA history: for those who hold an initial teaching license and are seeking professional licensure; current or future professionals in area museums and historical agencies; students who are preparing for doctoral studies in history; and those who just love history and want to dive deeper into the discipline.
