About the SBDC

The Massachusetts SBDC Northeast Region provides no-cost, confidential business advising to prospective and existing small businesses located in the North Shore and Merrimack Valley areas of the state. The Northeast Regional Office has advised over 11,000 entrepreneurs and helped them secure over $185 million in financing.


Located at the Bertolon School of Business at Salem State University, the Massachusetts SBDC is a partnership of the U.S. Small Business Administration and the Massachusetts Office of Business Development and is a program of Salem State University. Certified business advisors provide services at the Massachusetts SBDC’s main office in Salem and at outreach locations in the vicinity.

 

Business advisors work with business owners to help them package loans, develop business plans and financial projections, and assemble other documents required by lenders. The Massachusetts SBDC also works closely with the U.S. Small Business Administration, bankers, government and non-profit lenders to help connect clients with a wide range of financial resources. Business workshops are offered at no-cost or for a nominal fee and are held online and in-person. Many programs are cosponsored with chambers of commerce, banks, local colleges and universities, community development organizations and trade associations.
 

Business advising and workshop topics cover a wide array of management concerns. This may include business plan development, preventure feasibility, buying or selling a business, financing, cash flow analysis, social media, marketing and personnel issues.

Outreach Locations
