Horace Mann Renovation Update
At Horace Mann the structural work continues including the installation of columns, beams and steel channels and frames. Underground utility work continues. Selective brick and roof parapet demolition continues as does lintel abatement as needed. Learn more about the Horace Mann Renovation.
Meier Hall Addition
At the Meier Hall addition the foundation work continues. Steel decking and detailing work is ongoing. Prep work for slab pouring on the deck is commencing. The construction manager will make the physical connections to the Meier Building this summer. In addition, they will also work on installing a fire curtain at specific corridor and stairwell areas. Mobilization is commencing including mechanical make safe work, abatement, demolition of windows and walls (to make way for the new bridge connections), and installation of temporary partitions. Decarbonization Project Update
Drilling, looping and grouting for the project's geothermal wells continues. The construction manager is completing additional subsurface borings at various campus locations where future piping distribution work is anticipated. Interior demolition within the Central Utility Plant continues. The existing concrete floor will be demolished. This work will be loud at times and likely heard by building occupants within the Administration Building and Sophia Gordon. During the week of May 26, the windows above the Central Utility Plant will be abated from the roof. Learn more about the Decarbonization Project.
