About Eugenia Gibbons
Eugenia Gibbons is an expert in clean energy and climate policy and programming. With an eye towards equity and climate justice, she has worked throughout her career to hold people and communities at the center of strategy development, policy design, and program implementation. She has achieved tfhis by building collaborative partnerships and working across sectors in pursuit of shared goals. Eugenia was a member of the Healey-Driscoll transition policy committee for climate readiness, resiliency, and adaptation and served on the Commission on Clean Heat, convened by Governor Baker. She is a former member of the Global Warming Solutions Act (GWSA) Implementation Advisory Committee, where she co-chaired the inaugural Climate Justice Working Group that drafted principles for equitable decarbonization intended to inform development of Massachusetts' 2050 Roadmap report.
Eugenia was previously the Massachusetts Director of Climate Policy for Health Care Without Harm where she worked with hospitals to reduce their environmental footprint and with the sector, to become an anchor for sustainability and resilience. She was also the policy director at Green Energy Consumers Alliance, advocating for consumer programs and policy solutions to speed the transition to a low-carbon future in New England, and served as program director at Environmental League of Massachusetts, where she built a diverse coalition of stakeholders focused on implementing and complying with the state's greenhouse gas emission reduction mandate, GWSA. Currently, Gibbons works as the Clean Power Program Director for the Energy Foundation.
Eugenia, a proud alumna of the University of Connecticut, also holds a Master's degree in Urban and Environmental Policy and Planning from Tufts University.

Eugenia Gibbons visited campus multiple times throughout the semester to share her knowledge, skills, and experiences with students interested in climate justice, policy, and advocacy. While on campus, she visited classes, facilitated meals with students, coordinated speaker/workshop events, and hosted one-on-one mentor meetings with students.
