Student Involvement and Operations Student Positions
Responsible for providing organization and leadership in coordinating the operation of department-managed spaces. Assists in coordinating building services, set-ups, tech support, and activities.
Assists in providing guests with the set-up and tech needs that are requested for the various spaces that the campus community can book within department managed spaces.
Greet all who enter the campus center. Individual should be aware of the Campus Center daily schedule, operations, and offices located within the Ellison Campus Center, so they are able to direct individuals to their desired destinations and answer questions as thoroughly as possible. Assist with ticket sales for various student organization and department events.
Assists with administrative functions of the office to include, but not limited to, answering phones, welcoming guests, and reviewing and confirming reservations in the campus scheduling system 25Live. Assist with the information desk responsibilities as needed.
Provide administrative support and resources that will assist the Student Involvement and Operations department in meeting its mission. This role will support various student organizations in planning and organizing their events across campus, will monitor event requests through Presence and 25Live, and will assist with the office’s walk-in traffic. The student(s) in this role will also assist professional staff with the execution of various programs and events run by the department, and may take part in event set-up, breakdown, and check-in.
In addition, this role will help the Student Involvement and Operations team to effectively market and promote events and initiatives through various avenues, with an emphasis on social media engagement. Events and other obligations require flexibility to work a variety of hours including weekdays, evenings, and occasional weekends. Must be an excellent verbal and written communicator, capable of engaging effectively and positively through face-to-face interactions, emails, social media posts, and other marketing and promotional channels as needed.
