Community Band Summer Concert

The Salem Community Band presents is annual summer concert on August 3, 2026 at 7 pm. The band, now part of Salem State University's community music offerings, is under the direction of Cynthia Napierkowski.

The concert will feature Essex County District Attorney Paul Tucker '87, narrating JFK in Memoriam by James Curnow with the Concert Band as part of our 250th anniversary celebration of America and the 400th anniversary celebration of Salem.

Also featured in the concert will be recent Salem High School graduate Lucas Fox, playing a rendition of Gershwin's "Rhapsody in Blue" along with several other summer favorites!

The Community Jazz Band will also perform several selections and feature two vocal soloists: Samantha Dupuis, Salem High School Class of 2016, performing an arrangement of Michael Buble's "Everything" and Sofia Dixon, Salem State University Class of 2028, performing the classic "All of Me."

This free concert takes place outdoors on Salem State's Harrington Campus, 71 Loring Avenue. The concert will take place in front of Marsh Hall in the fire pit area. Bring chairs or blankets for free lawn seating. Picnics are encouraged! In the event of inclement weather, the concert will move inside to the cafe located on the ground floor of the Classroom Building next to Marsh Hall.

Parking is available in the lot next to the Enterprise Center or across the street on Loring Avenue behind the Salem Diner.
