Salem State University is committed to supporting Anna Maria College (AMC) students as they take their next steps following the closure of Anna Maria College. Through a formal transfer and degree completion agreement, Salem State offers clear transfer pathways, personalized support, and options to help you stay on track and complete your degree with confidence.

Who Can Transfer Under This Agreement?
You may be eligible to transfer to Salem State University under this agreement if, at the time of Anna Maria College’s official closure, you:
Were enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at AMC
Had been admitted to AMC but not yet matriculated
Were on an approved leave of absence
Were otherwise actively pursuing degree completion
Academic standing requirements:
Undergraduate students: 2.0 GPA or higher
Graduate students: 3.0 GPA or higher
To remain eligible under this agreement, students must apply, be admitted, and enroll at Salem State University by September 9, 2027. Students must also be in good academic and social/disciplinary standing.

Undergraduate Credit
Courses completed with a grade of C- or higher are eligible for transfer
One course with a grade of D or D+ may be accepted
Transfer credit is reviewed according to Salem State University policies and departmental standards
General Education Requirements
If you completed general education requirements at Anna Maria College — or the equivalent of the MassTransfer Block / General Education Foundation — you will be considered to have satisfied Salem State University’s general education requirements. Program‑specific or major‑required coursework will still be required.
Graduate Credit
Courses must be completed with a grade of B or higher
Credits must be no more than six years old
Up to 49% of required credits for a Salem State graduate degree may transfer
Students transferring higher credit volumes will work with a graduate program coordinator to establish a written plan
Degree Completion Options
Salem State University offers degree‑completion opportunities in academic programs aligned with those previously offered at Anna Maria College, subject to availability and approvals.
Program alignments and course equivalencies are maintained through official transfer documentation
Students transferring into programs not formally aligned will receive individual advising and a transfer plan
Residency Requirement (What This Means for You)
At Salem State, “residency” refers to coursework taken at Salem State University, not where you live.
Undergraduate Students will take at least 15 credits in residency at Salem State.
Graduate students are not subject to an additional residency requirement beyond transfer limits
Tuition, Financial Aid, and Housing
Tuition and required fees follow Salem State University’s published rates
Students may apply for federal and state financial aid through Salem State University and by submitting the Free Application for Federal Student Aid.
On‑campus housing may be available, based on space and eligibility

Transferred Anna Maria College students have full access to Salem State University resources, including:
Academic advising, degree planning and transfer success coaching
Orientation and transition programming
Tutoring, library services, and student success programs
Counseling, wellness, and accessibility services
Athletics Opportunities
Anna Maria College and Salem State University both compete at the NCAA Division III level. AMC students meeting SSU athletic eligibility requirements may:
Be introduced to Salem State coaching staff
Be considered for participation on teams
Compete in intercollegiate athletics, subject to NCAA and institutional rules
Participation is not guaranteed and depends on eligibility, roster space, and program requirements.
