No place so close can take you so far. Salem State University serves students from across the country and around the world. However, many of our students come from right in our own backyard.
Salem State offers competitive in-state tuition that saves students thousands over private colleges. Not only do students graduate with a quality education, but they are not buried in huge student loan debt. To further help our local students, we are offering scholarships to students from Salem and the surrounding areas.
Salem Scholars: $1,500 for the year
This grant is awarded to all qualified first-year undergraduate students who graduate from schools in Beverly, Everett, Danvers, Lynn, Malden, Peabody, Revere, Salem, and Saugus.
Viking Grant: $1,000 for the year
This grant is awarded to all qualified first-year undergraduate students whose home address is in Massachusetts at the time of application.
These grants are applied automatically to qualifying students whose home address is in the cities or towns specified as part of their financial aid awards. They do not need to be paid back. We encourage all students who are eligible to complete the FAFSA to do so.
