Accreditation and Assessment

Salem State's occupational therapy department is fully accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE), the accrediting body of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA). Enrolling in an accredited program provides our students two primary assurances:

• Our program is adherent to strict ACOTE standards
• Our continued commitment to improve program standards

Accreditation also benefits potential employers, knowing our graduates have met or exceeded industry standards. In fact, a degree from an accredited institution can often be a requirement for employment.
