- Double-check what time you are supposed to be leaving (after your last final or when the halls close on Friday, December 19, at 7 pm).
- Clean out your fridge and freezer entirely. The break is long, and you don't want leftover food to spoil.
- Pack up all the things you want or need to take; you won't be able to get back into the building after it has closed.
- Fully clean water bottles, water filters, ice cube trays, and dry thoroughly; mold can sneak up on dirty, untouched things.
- Take out all trash and recycling.
- Turn off the lights, lock the windows, and close all doors and blinds.
- If driving, bring home as much of your bedding as possible. Remember to wash your sheets, blankets, towels, and pillow cases.
- Don't leave a mess for yourself; it never feels good to come back to a mess, so put away clothes and sweep/vacuum the floors.
- Secure your belongings if you're not taking them with you.
- Unplug everything in your dorm room, including mini-fridges and microwaves.
