Mar 17, 2026

SALEM, MASS. – Dino Di Palma, an active Salem State community member for nearly a decade, has been named the 2025 recipient of the Salem State University Alumni Association and Foundation, Inc.’s Rising George H. Ellison ’54 Volunteer of the Year Award for his outstanding contributions through dedicated volunteer service to the university.

Di Palma, of Swampscott, serves as a member of Salem State’s Board of Trustees and the Meet the Moment® campaign steering committee. He also chairs the Bertolon School of Business’ dean’s advisory committee.

“While I’m not a Salem State graduate, I recognize the vital role this institution plays in shaping skilled, career-ready Vikings who make an immediate impact on the region’s business community and economy,” Di Palma said. “I see firsthand the value and importance of the work being done here at Salem State. It’s an honor to be recognized for contributing to our shared mission of empowering students and strengthening our broader community.”

Over the past five years, Di Palma has been instrumental in securing support for the Viking Business Pitch Competition, which is an opportunity for students to pitch innovative business ideas in front of a panel of judges chosen from the local entrepreneurial community. He has also played a key role in expanding access to paid internship opportunities for current students and in raising awareness of their value through the Ouellette-Di Palma Family Internship Fund.

“Dino’s insight and generosity is deeply respected at the highest levels of Salem State’s leadership,” said Mike Mitchell ’07, director of engagement at Salem State. “Much of what has thrived in recent years is a direct result of his guidance and dedication.”
