Summer Writing Support for Faculty

Co-Sponsored by the Mary G. Walsh Writing Center and the Center for Research and Creative Activities

The Mary G. Walsh Writing Center and the Center for Research and Creative Activities are pleased to co-sponsor another summer of programming to support faculty in achieving their writing goals.

Just Write, Wednesday, May 24 | 8:30 am-12:30 pm | BL-209 (Faculty Reading Room)

Join your colleagues who want to have dedicated time to just write. We will meet in person and bookend our writing and responding with a light breakfast and lunch.

Participants will check-in, briefly, by introducing themselves, their writing projects, and specific goals for the session. Then, they will just write and even have an option for peer response/editing.

Finish it this Summer (remote), starting Thursday, June 8 | Biweekly on Thursdays, 3-4 pm

Starting Thursday, June 8, in the spirit of Wendy Laura Belcher’s work about writing an article in twelve weeks, you can finish a writing project by attending remote Zoom sessions every two weeks, on Thursday, from 3-4 pm.

This workshop is open to 8 faculty who plan to complete a scholarly writing project within this time frame. Faculty, who must apply to participate and provide a brief description of the project they hope to complete, will receive a modest stipend upon completion of the workshop.

The workshop provides structured writing sessions and offers dedicated time as well as facilitated support for faculty to focus on scholarly writing in the company of colleagues.
