The fall festivities may be behind us, but the campus buzz is only getting brighter! As we step into December and the final stretch of the semester, there’s plenty of holiday cheer, exciting events, and end-of-year moments you won’t want to miss.

Week-long
Are you a student interested in building skills and enhancing strategies related to academic success? Do you need a little bit of guidance and support around a particular academic success topic? Attend a Student Success Series Workshop (via Zoom) happening all this week at a variety of times.
Monday, December 8
PME Induction Ceremony and Talk - 11 am-1 pm
Dr. Kathi Crow will give a talk entitled "Exploring the Interplay of Math and Public Policy." The formal induction of our four new PME members will take place immediately after.
Lunch will officially be scheduled starting at noon. Everyone is welcome, even if they didn't attend the talk.
Healthcare Studies Pre-Professional Day - 11 am- 1 pm
Please join Healthcare Studies and Career Services for this bi-annual event. Healthcare Studies students will present posters showcasing their internship experiences. Some students will also have the opportunity to participate in mock interviews with a variety of healthcare professionals, while others will participate in an alumni panel.

Family Council: Applying for Scholarships - 6:30-7 pm
The university's scholarship portal opens in December. Students apply once and are considered for every scholarship they can receive in the next academic year. Find out how to help your student access the portal and apply for scholarships from Dr. Kevin Linton, Director of TRIO Support Services Program and Chair of the SSU Scholarship Committee.
University Band Fall Concert - 7:30-9 pm
The University Band presents its fall concert under the direction of Cynthia Napierkowski. The program includes "William Byrd Suite", "Black River Overture", among other selections. The SSU Flute Ensemble will also perform.
Admission is free. Goodwill offerings at the door are welcome.
Tuesday, December 9
Snacks and Study Hacks - 4-6 pm
Finals are coming—and we’ve got your back! Tutors will offer study tips and academic resources. There will also be food, snacks, and raffle prizes.
Wednesday, December 10
Red Cross Blood Drive - 9 am-2:30 pm
Sign up to donate at the Red Cross Blood Drive in the Campus Center Veterans Hall on Wednesday, December 10 from 9am-2:30pm.
Schedule your appointment by visiting the Red Cross website and enter ‘Salem State’ to sign up for an appointment for our drive; or download the American Red Cross Blood Donor app to sign up.
Interested volunteers can email service@salemstate.edu to assist. Let us know what time you are available to volunteer between 9am-2:30pm on December 10.
We need 1-2 volunteers to check-in donors and 1-2 volunteers to assist the donors in the canteen area after they donate blood.
University Choral Ensembles Fall Concert -7:30-9 pm
Three choral ensembles equal three times the choral splendor! The University Chorus performs several contemporary choral works and excerpts from "100 Years of Broadway." Alta Voce presents a concert/choral rendition of the opening to Zauberflöte by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The concert is rounded out by the Chamber Singers, who will perform works from the Baroque to some holiday fare. Professor Holly Zagaria directs with Professor Sanae Kanda at the piano.
Take a study break and join your fellow Vikings for an evening of fun! Power up for finals with late night breakfast. Music, games, and prizes will add to the excitement.
