Horace Mann Renovation Update

Window demolition and exterior masonry restoration continue. Exterior demolition and excavation also continue for the new elevator and campus facing entry into the building. Interior structural work continues. Underground utilities are expected to begin in early November. Learn more about the Horace Mann renovation.

Meier Hall Addition

Concrete and steel work continue for the foundation. Concrete pours for the footings have begun, and concrete work is expected to last through December. Structual steel erection is expected to begin in January. The goal is to have the foundation and steel erection complete by spring so that concrete slabs placements can be poured when the weather breaks. Learn more about the Meier Hall addition.

Decarbonization Project Update

Mobilization for phase one of the geothermal drilling project has begun. Fencing was installed to close off the lower section of the College Drive parking lot (near Peabody Hall). Faculty and staff can still park in the upper section of this lot and in over 250 parking spaces reserved for them on the third and fourth floors of the North Campus Parking Garage. The contractor anticipates the drilling equipment to arrive in November. Exploratory demolition will begin within the utility plant in December. All work will be contained within the plant and no impacts are expected. Learn more about the decarbonization project.
