The university is pleased to announce that monies for small project strategic plan initiatives will be available for FY25 in the amount of $50,000. Salem State faculty and staff are encouraged to apply for funding for amounts up to $5,000 from the $50,000 pool.
Please submit your proposal for funding using the form attached to this announcement after seeking approval from your vice president/dean/AVP. Proposals will be vetted according to the attached rubric by a small working group of university representatives and recommendations will be made to PEC for final approval.
Allowable Costs for Funding
- Summer stipends (faculty stipend hourly rate: $50/hour)
- Graduate and undergraduate student employees
- Professional development
- CO9 expenses
- Operating expenses, i.e., copy center, food, marketing materials, etc
- Equipment
Please note that funds cannot be spent on recurring expenses such as benefitted personnel.
Timeline
- Requests for proposals released April 3, 2024
- Proposals are due on May 6, 2024. Proposals should be submitted to: SPIfunding@salemstate.edu.
- Notification of small project awards will be made no later than June 7, 2024.
- Funding will be available beginning in July 2024; the beginning of FY 25.
Funding recipients must chronicle their work in the university’s strategic plan Input System. A short final report is required by June 15, 2025.
