Salem State Biology Professor Thea Popolizio, with colleagues from Trinity College, University of New Brunswick, and University of Rhode Island, has published in Cryptogamie, Algologie, an international journal of the systematics, ecology and evolution of algae and other cryptogams.

The paper “Molecular analysis resolves the taxonomy of the Laurencia complex (Rhodomelaceae, Ceramiales) in Bermuda and uncovers novel species of Chondrophycus and Laurenciella,” explores historical records of a major group of macroalgae in the Bermuda islands and uses molecular data to update the taxonomy of the group and present two new species.
