Salem State University will remain closed for day classes on Tuesday, January 27. Only designated essential personnel should report to work as scheduled. A decision on evening classes will be announced by 12 noon.
October Service Saturday: Invasive Species Removal on Winter Island

The Center for Civic Engagement is partnering with the Biology and Geographical Society on a volunteer project to remove bittersweet (an invasive plant species) on Winter Island on Saturday, October 21, 2023. This event is hosted by The Salem Sound Coastwatch and the Bittersweet Brigade. SSU community members should meet outside Dunkin Donuts in Meier Hall at 9:30 am and will be back on campus by 1 pm. This project needs over 30 volunteers to assist in the removal process. Transportation and snacks will be provided and the Bittersweet Brigade will provide tools.
