Elizabeth Blood PhD of the world languages and cultures department has launched a new collection in the Library's Archives and Special Collections related to the culture and heritage of French-Canadians in North America. The collection offers free online English translations of works originally published in French. The first two works are a History of the Ile d'Orleans and a History of St. Joseph's Parish in Salem, Massachusetts edited by Dr. Elizabeth Duclos-Orsello of the interdisciplinary studies department. These will be of interest to Franco-Americans who are doing genealogical research and researchers interested in Franco-American communities in Massachusetts. View the collection online on the Digital Commons at SSU.
