Restorative Healing and Storytelling Circles

With great respect for Indigenous peoples, the Inclusive Excellence office will be keeping Restorative Circles using the Circle Process for all Salem State community members. If you are interested and want to be notified of when this will be offered, please fill out this brief interest form.


Forum on Tolerance 2020: Black Lives Matter: the U.S. Journey towards Justice and Healing, a Four-Day Virtual Event in Collaboration with North Shore Community College

October 19-22, 2020

"WITH OUR CONDEMNATION of the senseless murder of George Floyd as our catalyst, our virtual series will focus on the history of the harassment, profiling, and brutalization of our black citizens by the hands of community policing and the criminal justice system. We will explore steps that might be taken to reverse this systemic racism, help those who have been victimized by it, and heal as a nation and a community."

  • Michael Eric Dyson is a Georgetown Professor of Sociology and minister, Dr. Dyson is a New York Times contributing opinion writer, a contributing editor of The New Republic, and of ESPN's The Undefeated website. Some of his recent books are The Black Presidency: Barack Obama and the Politics of Race in America (2016), Tears We Cannot Stop: A Sermon to White America (2017), What Truth Sounds Like (2018), and AY-Z: Made in America (2019).
