Just a few spots left to submit to the Master’s in English Regional Conference: New England (MERC)
Sponsored by Bridgewater State University and Salem State University, MERC is a virtual conference for graduate-level students or recent degree recipients to present their research and writing.
Our second annual conference will be held via Zoom on Saturday, March 26, 2022.
We are currently seeking paper proposals from current and recent graduate students in English MA and MAT programs around New England (for Salem State University, this includes students currently enrolled in the 4+1 program). For recent graduate students, papers must have been written while enrolled as students in an MA or MAT program. We are accepting works in:
- Literary history
- Critical theory
- Literary criticism
- Creative writing
- TESOL and linguistics
- Rhetoric and composition
- English education and teaching English
- Professional writing and communication

This is a great opportunity for students with limited conference experience to present their work in a supportive, low-key environment, designed to facilitate student success.
