Announcing Keynote Speakers for Student Success Summits

Student Success and the First Year Experience Office is excited to announce the two keynote speakers for the third annual Student Success Summits. Our virtual Student Success Summit on Thursday, January 12 will feature Claude E. Taylor from Monmouth University and our In-Person Student Success Summit on Friday, Jan 20 will include TiElla Grimes, founder of InnHer Uplift Consulting.

Claude E. Taylor currently serves as Director for Academic Transition and Inclusion and is a lecturer in Communication Studies at Monmouth University in New Jersey. Claude leads the campus-wide initiative First to Fly: First Generation at Monmouth which celebrates and supports students who identify as first generation. Under his leadership, Monmouth earned recognition as a First-gen Forward Institution. Claude teaches courses in Gender, Race and Media, Communication Ethics, Media Literacy, Political Communication, and Civic Participation. He works collaboratively across the campus community to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion as an active member of the Black and African Diaspora Forum United (BADFU), the President’s Advisory Council for Diversity and Inclusion, and the Institute for Global Understanding (IGU) Faculty Advisory Council.

TiElla Grimes, Founder of InnHer Uplift Consulting, is a Spiritual Transformational Coach, Speaker and Facilitator. She is a visionary and thought leader in the field of Urban Youth Development, Media Literacy, Personal and Professional Development. Her praxis is also guided by the inter-connectedness to social-emotional learning via the appliance of transformative creative expression. She provides tailored-made private and group coaching, courses, retreats and events for intergenerational BIWOC communities who are navigating the hand-me-downs of their reality. She creates spaces that foster healing, uplift humanity and cultivate inner harmony. She innpowers her clients to transform their perception of self by designing the blueprint for the womxn they want to be.

The Student Success Summits are a great way for students to start off the spring semester strong. In addition to a motivational keynote speaker, the summits include several success workshops (such as Conquering Procrastination and Wellness in the Winter) and a faculty panel of professors from across academic disciplines.
