Information About Marsh Hall

Located on Central Campus, Marsh Hall houses 525 first-years, sophomores, juniors, and seniors in double and triple style rooms across five floors. Each floor offers multiple lounge/study areas, kitchenettes, and community and private bathrooms.

On the ground level, Vikings can find an information desk, fitness room, flatscreen TVs, video game consoles, a Bluetooth speaker bar, pool tables, vending machines, a laundry room, and a mailroom. Marsh also houses a dining hall and convenience store with a separate entrance from the residence hall.

Living in Marsh has its perks– residents are a just few short steps from a 24/7 dining hall, Starbucks, Bertolon School of Business, a Viking Shuttle stop, Atlantic Hall, Viking Hall, and the Marsh Quad–the perfect spot for studying with friends, playing sports or simply hanging out. Marsh also neighbors the Salem Bike Path and the salt marsh.

What to Know About Living in Marsh Hall

Marsh Hall is staffed by a full-time area coordinator with a master's degree, an assistant director, 15 resident assistants, and five academic mentors. A 24-hour security/information desk is located at the entrance to the hall.

Marsh Hall received LEED Gold certification for its energy efficiency and other sustainability features. A highlight is the green roof hosting seven varieties of drought-resistant sedum and grasses. The vegetation reduces storm water run-off and helps moderate building temperature.
