Mikheil Petrosyan is originally from the country of Georgia, former Soviet Union. He studied language interpretation and translation at a linguistic university in Russia, and worked at the Embassy of Japan in Georgia as an Assistant to a Political Department. After moving to the US, Mikheil received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from St. Francis College in Brooklyn, and a Master’s Degree in Sustainable International Development from Brandeis University. Mikheil is a native speaker of Russian and Georgian. As of 2024, he works as a System Analyst at a global non-profit organization, Oxfam America.
Mr. Petrosyan will discuss themes of cultural adaptation and nuance in translation and may include comments on the role of AI in translation.
