As of fall 2025, Salem State University has chartered a chapter of the national transfer honor society, Tau Sigma. Eligible transfer students have from September 9 to September 23 to join.
The national Tau Sigma organization has emailed eligible students with details regarding the process to join. The requirements are as follows:
- Have transferred in 24+ credits
- Have achieved a 3.5 GPA or higher during their first semester at Salem State University
- Have enrolled in 12 credits or more during their first semester at Salem State University
Students are only able to join the honor society once during their college career. If students choose not to join at this time, they will not be eligible again in the future.
The initiation ceremony will be held at 11:30 am on Saturday, September 27 in Veterans Hall, Ellison Campus Center. Family members are invited to attend.
