The Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) research engages in systematic and/or reflective inquiry, including naming research questions, determining data sources, designing a study, receiving IRB approval, analyzing data, and then making the findings public. In other words, it’s expanding faculty's expertise as disciplinary scholars as it intersects with their role as professors.

The SoTL Critical Friends Group, hosted by the Center for Teaching Innovation (CTI), is a monthly gathering and accountability group designed to support faculty who are engaging in the scholarship of teaching and learning. Led by CTI Faculty Fellow Cami Condie (Childhood Education and Care), this group is open to all faculty: whether you're just beginning a project or refining one in progress, all stages are welcome.

This is a flexible, drop-in/drop-out space designed to help you stay motivated, exchange ideas, and grow your SoTL practice.
