Interactive Assignment Design through AI

Status message

Please note that this event has already occurred.

This workshop seminar is tailored for instructors who want to develop the knowledge and skills to use AI technologies to create more authentic, creative learning experiences that educate and empower students.

As AI tools become more powerful and accessible, they present opportunities to reinvent assignment design - if used judiciously. That’s why we developed this seminar—to equip educators to leverage these technologies ethically to solve real-world problems and make a genuine impact through multimedia.

Objectives:

  • Empowering Students Through AI Problem-Solving: Hands-on activities will enable guiding students to apply AI to address authentic issues through collaboratively generated solutions, including videos, podcasts, websites, and data visualizations.

  • Designing Meaningful AI-Infused Assignments: Participants will learn a framework for developing assignments and assessments that teach students to utilize AI responsibly to amplify creativity, critical thinking, and communication skills to address real societal needs.

  • Facilitating Engaging Learning Through Mixed Media Generation: This seminar will provide principles and practice in steering students to drive change through multimedia content, blending AI and their expertise.

  • Cultivating Ethics & Critical Thinking Around AI: The seminar will empower educators to encourage critical assessment of AI outputs and tradeoffs to instill accountability and ethical use of AI.

  • Inclusive Learning Through Universal Design: Finally, participants will gain insights into incorporating UDL principles when designing AI activities, making education more equitable by supporting diverse learning needs.

Join us in advancing the responsible use of AI to augment learning and equip students to make an even more significant impact!
