Gentrification Game:

Apr 10
Make Money by Gentrifying Someone Else’s Neighborhood

Make money by gentrifying someone else's neighborhood! Do you know who will benefit and who will lose when people play the gentrification game?

Gentrification often starts when a neighborhood sees an influx of new businesses, new investments, and wealthier residents. This influx can result in rising property values, increased rents,  and changes in a neighborhood's cultural and social character, leading to displacement of long-standing residents. How and why does gentrification happen? Why does it matter and what could we do about it?

Join us for an exciting and illuminating interactive, team-based game to explore how neighborhood gentrification, housing insecurity, and environmental justice intersect, followed by a discussion about why we should care and what we might be able to do about it.
