The stretch of bike path behind Salem State University's Central Classroom building on the Harrington Campus will host the City of Salem's Volt & Vibe event on Sunday, June 29 from 1-4 pm. Attendees will have the opportunity to test ride a variety of vehicles, including electric bikes and cargo bikes, scooters, unicycles, skateboards, and more. If you're thinking of finding a more sustainable way to get around, this is your chance to test ride a variety of personal electric vehicles and ask local owners and vendors any questions you have. Participants are asked to bring their own helmets with them.
This event follows the April announcement of the Massachusetts Statewide Electric Bike Incentive Program. Launched by the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center (MassCEC), this initiative provides income-based incentives of up to $1,200 toward the purchase of electric bicycles (e-bikes). Not only does this program make these bikes more affordable, but it ensures that more residents can leverage clean and efficient transportation options.
