From War to Pandemic – Exploring Asian American Resilience Across Generations
Join us for a Lunch & Learn in honor of Asian, Pacific Islander, and Desi American (APIDA) Heritage Month. The event will begin with a delicious, themed lunch, followed by an overview of the journeys of Asian Americans from Asia to the United States, presented by Tuong Vi Thai, Orientation Coordinator. Together, we will reflect on experiences shaped by the Vietnam War, migration, and the COVID-19 pandemic.
Through storytelling and dialogue, participants will explore how resilience, solidarity, belonging, and community support have shaped Asian American experiences across generations. Come listen, learn, and reflect on how these histories continue to influence our communities today.
Content warning: This program will reflect on the lasting impacts of the Vietnam War and includes historical visuals and staged counter-narrative readings that may address themes of war, displacement, and trauma.
