About
Anxiety disorders are among the most common presenting concerns across every corner of the helping profession, yet we lack common language and understanding for what's happening in the brain when anxiety takes hold. This presentation will offer insight into the neurobiological foundation of anxiety designed explicitly for interprofessional audiences, bridging the conceptual gaps that too often keep disciplines working in parallel rather than in concert.
Participants will be able to:
- identify and describe five key brain structures implicated in anxiety and their functional roles.
- trace two distinct neural pathways through which anxiety responses are generated and maintained.
- apply new learning across disciplinary lines.
