Now Open: Building Inclusive Academic Communities (BIAC) 26-27 Student Application

Due Monday, May 4
Apr 27, 2026

The Building Inclusive Academic Communities (BIAC) program offers a unique opportunity for students and faculty to connect, learn, and grow together through meaningful dialogue, exploration, and mentorship. Participants join small, close-knit mentoring pods of five—two faculty members, one graduate student, and two undergraduate students—creating a supportive space for collaboration and shared learning.

Throughout the academic year, participants explore their identities and positionalities while building authentic community. BIAC empowers students to reflect, engage in thoughtful conversation, and develop practical strategies for fostering inclusive classroom environments where individuals of all identities and backgrounds can thrive.

Program Commitment

Participants must be available from September 2026 through May 2027. Student participants receive a stipend, distributed through bi-weekly payments, in recognition of their time, engagement, and commitment to the program.

Application Information

Ready to be part of a transformative experience? Submit your completed application by Monday, May 4. The BIAC 2025–2026 Leadership Team will review all applications and notify applicants of decisions by mid-May.
