Meier Hall Ribbon Cutting Ceremony and Open House

Join us to meet the artist and enjoy our new commissioned mural in Meier Hall.
Jul 27, 2026

Join us in the Meier Hall Lobby (outside Dunkin') as we celebrate the ribbon-cutting for Melissa Stratton Pandina and Gabriela Sepúlveda Ortiz's "Chronicles of Salem Change Makers.  The ribbon-cutting will take place at 5 pm, followed by an Open House with refreshments and an opportunity to connect with the artists.  We hope you'll join us in honoring this exciting addition to our campus community!

“Chronicles of Salem Change Makers” echoes the work of the previous mural on this site, Robert E. Larter’s “A Chronicle of Salem” as it engages the vision of 21st century Salem State students, faculty, staff, and community members. It came to be under the guidance of an advisory committee of Salem State faculty, staff, and students with input from our larger communities and through a collaboration with the Punto Urban Art Museum, a program of the North Shore Community Development Coalition. Supported by Salem State’s Hispanic and Minority Serving Initiatives and the Digital Ethnic Futures Consortium. Special thanks to the School of Arts and Sciences and the department Art + Design for their significant efforts in bringing this forward.
