Haverhill Resident Named Salem State University Alumni Association’s 2023 George H. Ellison ’54 Volunteer of the Year

Jessica Tomlinson ’09, of Haverhill, has been named the 2023 recipient of the George H. Ellison ’54 Volunteer of the Year Award for her outstanding contributions through dedicated volunteer service to Salem State University.

Tomlinson graduated from Salem State in 2009 with a bachelor’s degree in social work and psychology. Her professional career started as a fundraiser at a regional non-profit affordable housing organization focused on enriching the lives of low- and moderate-income families and seniors. Currently, she is a licensed real estate professional leveraging her customer service and project management skills to assist buyers and sellers.

As a dedicated member of the university community, Tomlinson serves on the Salem State University Alumni Association and Foundation, Inc. board of directors, working to educate the greater community on Salem State’s impact across the region and beyond.

“Jessica has been a thoughtful and dedicated volunteer to Salem State for many years,” said Mike Mitchell ’07, associate director for alumni relations at Salem State. “Starting with her time on the Young Alumni Society to the present day, she has spearheaded the process of unifying our Alumni Association and Foundation boards, her contributions are immeasurable. I can think of nobody more deserving of this recognition this year than her.”

The George H. Ellison ’54 Volunteer of the Year Award is presented to an alumnus/a who has made outstanding contributions through dedicated volunteer service to Salem State University. The recipient is chosen annually by the president of the Salem State University Alumni Association Board of Directors.
