Grading For Growth: Feedback that Reverberates with Students
Wednesday, April 8, 12-1:30 pm | Zoom
Register for this evenT Facilitated by Jim McGrath (Center for Teaching Innovation); featuring faculty presenters Reva Kasman (mathematics) and Monica Leisey (social work). Learn more about the Center for Teaching Innovation.
This session will focus on the role course feedback plays in assessment, inviting attendees to reflect on when, how, and why they have modeled, shared, and encouraged feedback with students. We will focus on course strategies that move away from "one-time assessment" models to discuss approaches that emphasize "feedback loops" (among other methods). We'll also talk about formats, genres, and language to consider when reflecting on what our students know and don't know about instructor and peer feedback best practices.
Faculty attendees are encouraged to bring an assignment (from a current or future course) to consider opportunities to revise or expand the role that feedback plays in connecting course assessment to course objectives.
Please register in advance for this Zoom session. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.
