About the Event
Held annually, the Scholar and Donor Celebration is an opportunity for the Salem State University Foundation to recognize the many donors who contribute to funds in support of our students. The university extends congratulations to these students who, through their academic dedication and perseverance, receive these awards.

Information for Scholars and Donors
If you cannot say congratulations in person you can still congratulate our students remotely.
Please send in a :05 -:10 video to express your congratulations to our students. You may make/hold a sign, throw confetti, or dance, it’s up to you!
If you have not already done so, submit your biography, photo, video, and a thank you letter to your donor.
This is a very important part of the process and will be shared with your donor so they should represent you at your best.

Tips for writing your thank you letter.
- What is the dress code for the Scholar and Donor Celebration?
- Business casual attire. Examples include button-down shirts, blouses, collared polo shirts, sweaters, cardigans, chinos, khakis, tailored dress slacks, knee-length or midi skirts, knee-length or midi dresses, flats, low heels, and loafers. You can also visit the Career Closet in the Ellison Campus Center if you need access to new and gently used career-ready attire.
- How many guests can I bring to the event?
- You can bring two guests.
- What can I expect?
- Enjoy dinner and dessert, connect with fellow scholarship recipients, meet your scholarship donor (if attending), hear from university leadership during a short speaking program, and stop by the photo booth to capture some fun moments!
- Will there be transportation to Danversport?
- Yes, shuttles will be provided from campus to the event at Danversport to encourage student

- When will I know if my donor is attending the Scholar and Donor Celebration?
- The week of November 16 you will receive an email sharing that your donor can/cannot attend the Scholar and Donor Celebration.
- If my donor is attending, what should I be prepared to talk about?
- Your donor wants to know more about you and your Salem State experience. Think about why you chose Salem State, why you chose your major, and what your favorite moments have been so far. Consider asking your donor what their affiliation is with Salem State, and why they chose to create a scholarship.
