Donor Recognition and Giving Societies

Become a leadership donor today! Those individuals and organizations who generously support Salem State earn special recognition because they inspire our community and instill a culture of philanthropy that allows us to fulfill our mission to an even greater level.

Donor and Giving Societies

We invite you to become members of Salem State University's most prestigious giving circle, the Sullivan Society. When you make a leadership gift of $1,000 or more you make a powerful statement about your belief in public education, and in the future of Salem State. Membership is recognized in one of six giving clubs and donors may utilize corporate matching funds along with gifts and pledge payments received in a single fiscal year to qualify for memberships:

Charlotte Forten $50,000+
1854 Society $25,000-$49,999
Trustees' Society $10,000-$24,999
President's Circle $5,000-$9,999
Salem Club $2,500-$4,999
Executive Club $1,000-$2,499

We realize young alumni support is critical to the future success of Salem State, and have therefore created the Associates level to encourage young alums to invest in Salem State and fellow Vikings.

Proudly we recognize Crosby Society members as key philanthropic leaders who share their loyalty and support to the university by carrying out Alpheus Crosby's legacy. By including Salem State in their wills and other estate plans they have allowed the university to celebrate their legacy today. Members receive invitations throughout the year to private receptions that are hosted with the Sullivan Society and other donor recognition events.

For more information on how you may participate, please contact Institutional Advancement at or 978.542.7590.
