Join the Frederick E. Berry Institute of Politics at 9-11 am on Friday, April 26 as we say farewell to our 2024 Berry IOP Fellows. This semester, we were honored to welcome social justice advocate, political strategist, and entrepreneur Tomás Gonzalez and award-winning political journalist Alison King. This event includes a moderated conversation between our IOP Fellows as well as a casual breakfast reception. The conversation will focus on current political issues including what's at stake in the upcoming election, the influence of Gen Z, and maintaining hope during challenging times. This is a final opportunity for you to meet our IOP Fellows, thank them for their time with us this semester, and listen to them engage in a lively discussion. This event will be in-person in Forten 123 (formerly Viking 123) located on Central Campus next to Starbucks. Breakfast refreshments will be provided.
About the Berry IOP Fellowship
Each spring semester, the Berry IOP invites two prominent elected officials, journalists, activists, lawyers, policymakers, and other public servants to campus to serve as Berry IOP Fellows. As rising or seasoned professionals, Fellows share their knowledge, skills, and experiences with students who are exploring and pursuing careers in politics and public service. Through one-time and ongoing engagement, Fellows serve as a resource and a mentor to students. During their visits, IOP Fellows participated in and led both curricular and co-curricular programs including visiting classes, hosting meals with students, and coordinating speaker and workshop events.
