Author, producer and motivational speaker Ilyasah Shabazz's latest release, “‘X: A Novel’ by Malcolm X’s Daughter” is a riveting and revealing novel that follows the formative years of the man whose words and actions shook the world. Her previous publication, “Growing Up X”, won critical acclaim, including an NAACP Image Award nomination, BET best book list, and United Press International book of the week. Her presentation will be given on Monday, January 26 at 11 am.
“Selected Smiles” is a new series of 26 editions of serigraphs created by professor Benjamin Gross. Each print is directly connected to one of the letters of the alphabet. Happiness, and the outward display of such, is an unavoidable pervasive theme for this new body of work.
Associate professor of interdisciplinary studies Elizabeth Duclos-Orsello has been elected to the board of directors of Mass Humanities, the regional arm of the National Endowment for the Humanities. She is the first representative of a state university to serve on this prestigious statewide board.
For the second consecutive year, the university has been named to the President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll, the highest federal recognition an institution can receive for its commitment to community, service learning and civic engagement.
