Sextant
Our Mission
Combining the learned rigor of an academic journal with the accessible style and format of a general-audience magazine, Sextant presents the research, scholarship, and creative activity of Salem State faculty, librarians, staff, and administrators. The faculty-produced, multidisciplinary magazine supports Salem State University’s mission “to provide a high quality, student-centered education that prepares a diverse community of learners to contribute responsibly and creatively to a global society, and serve as a resource to advance the region's cultural, social and economic development.”
Sextant engages its readers in the intellectual life of Salem State University by conveying the excitement of creativity, discovery, and the rigors of research as faculty, librarians, staff, and administrators working in all fields, including arts and humanities, social sciences, physical sciences, business, nursing, and more, tell their stories.
