Biology Professor Lisa Delissio was recently featured in the Boston Globe for her work at the Greenlawn Cemetery in Salem.
Dr. Delissio has been serving as Campus Lead for the F. Carroll Sargent Arboretum at Greenlawn Cemetery since May 2020. In this role, Dr. Delissio has been working with the City of Salem and a civic organization, the Friends of Greenlawn Cemetery (FOG) to inventory all the trees and shrubs at this ArbNet accredited arboretum. In addition to conducting community-based and disciplinary research at the arboretum, Dr. Delissio engages her students in course-based research experiences through her Botany course (BIO300).
