New Viking Dining Services

Salem State University is proud to announce that Aramark is the new provider of campus dining services! Aramark's focus is on their guests and their dining experience with a goal to provide exceptional service where students, faculty and staff will look forward to dining together at one of the many locations on campus. Exceptional service, outstanding quality and unprecedented variety are the overarching themes to Aramark's portfolio of offerings. 

This past academic year, our students and other community members shared their ideas and concerns, and now our meal program has been more than refreshed! 

Starting fall 2019, you’ll find:

  • New meal plan options

  • Enhanced quality and variety of food offerings

  • Increased healthy food options while retaining comfort food favorites

  • Renovations underway for the Marsh Hall dining area that includes a new “living room” space 

  • For the first time—unlimited dining in North Campus—and 24/7 unlimited dining will be available in Marsh Hall! Guests will find fresh food, customizable entrees, exhibition cooking, international favorites, healthy temptations–including a wide variety of protein-rich vegan and vegetarian options, freshly baked breads and pastries, and so much more!  

Each location offers a diverse and unique menu which changes daily. You can also find mainstay comfort selections to ensure there is always something to satisfy your hunger. There are even more improvements planned that will be announced in the following months. We are very excited about the completely refreshed and enhanced dining program we'll begin offering this summer as it’s an important part of your campus experience.

Marsh Hall Dining Commons

We make sure we serve all the comforts of home such as Under The Hood Grill, Nonna’s Kitchen Pizza and Pasta, and Greens and Grains salad bar while also creating some unique destinations such as One World Kitchen, where you can get a themed three-course meal or Oolong Eats, offering a fresh selection of customizable rice and noodle bowls. Sift Bakery provides freshly baked breakfast breads and irresistible desserts.

Authentic, ethnic cuisine is available on a rotating basis at Delicious Destinations, and at Local Loaf, made-to-order deli fresh sandwiches are there to satisfy any craving. Premium Starbucks Fair Trade Coffee will ensure your morning and afternoon pick-me-ups are worth the trip!

For those with dietary restrictions, we are proud to introduce the True Balance concept, instilling confidence in students, parents and the Salem State community that options that fit their needs will always be available in the dining hall. This stations offers menu selections made without wheat, gluten, soy, dairy, eggs, shellfish, peanuts, and tree nuts.

Introducing Create Kitchen!
We are excited to highlight our home kitchen concept where students will learn to cook through hands-on teaching and video demonstrations. Chef Adam will guide you through the process and at the end of the session, you have cooked your own delicious dinner, the way you like, just in time to dine with your friends. Create Kitchen will fuel both your innovation and creativity!

The Late Night Fix menu offers a variety of tasty favorites such as nachos, wings and mozzarella sticks.

North Campus

  • Crackle Grill has all your favorite burgers and grilled chicken sandwiches, with veggie burgers, too!
  • Ignition Pizza and Pasta transports you to the North End of Boston.
  • Jumping Greens salad bar offers a wide variety of fresh vegetables, composed salads, proteins and toppings. 
  • One World Kitchen delivers a perfectly paired, three course meal.
  • Oolong Eats features a fresh selection of customizable rice and noodle bowls. 
  • Simmer & Thyme offers home-style soups.
  • World’s Fare delivers premium carved meats.

Aramark is thrilled to serve the Salem State University community. Our team will work with you to plan and execute your special event with fresh, local ingredients and authentic international flavors. We are happy to cater events for groups of any size.

Need to place an order? Please view our menus at vikingcatering.catertrax.com. Then, please call 978.542.6444 and speak directly with Jessica Mackool, district manager of Viking Dining, to book your event. You will soon be able to log into this system and place your orders online using your previously set-up account.
